Ho will have a new trial. One of tho points which won n. new trial for tho defendant was tho decision by the uprxr court that the conclusions of blood hounds were too unreliable to bo accepted as evidence. Wood hounds taken to the sceno of the crime were said to havo followed a trail to Pfanschmldt'a home. Tho trial court admitted evidence of the trailing by tho dogs. The admis sion of this testimony was held by the upper court to be error. In Its order tending: tho caso back for a new trial, tho supreme court directed that a motion fo a change of venuo from Adams ccunty be granted. QL'INCV, 111., Feb. 21.-Tho crime of which Ilay Pfnnschmtdt was convicted wad a most grucsomo one. The bodies, although badly burned In tho fire which destroyed the house, showed signs of having been beaten and chopped. It was the testi mony of tho experts at the trial that tho four victims -were kilted and their bodies burned. Ilay Pfanschmldt, then not 21 years of age and tho only surviving member of tho family, was arrested for tho crime Ills trial began In the circuit court of Adams county, arch 18, 1913, Judgo Ouy Williams of Havana presiding.
