ment of music; Theodore Hardee, chief
of tho department of liberal arts, and
Frank Hurt, director general of conces
sions nnd admissions, nnnounco such nn
extensive array of attractions as will
stagger the Imagination to conceive.
In the department of concessions there
have been In the neighborhood of 7,000
applicants for space. This wealth of
offera has rendered possible a splendidly
sclcctlvo choice, tho magnitude nnd In
terest of which may bo Indicated from
Frederic Thompson's concession, "Toy
land Grown LTp," which will cover twelve
acres of tho concessions spaco and will
cost over $1,000,000. Us crooked lanes,
winding roads and sleepy canals will
skirt n fairy land whero will bo scon
a huce Noah's Ark, the fabulous shoe In
which the old woman lived who' didn't
know what to do, and there will be the
castle of, the wicked king and the palncc
of the wonderful prince. Tho shoo alone

The concessions section has not yet

In the music department George W,
Stewart Is planning a season of sym
phony concerts to bo directed by the
most famous orchestral directors of this
country and Europe; a series of organ
recitals to be given dally In Festival hall
by noted Instrumentalists wherever avail
able artists on the king of instruments
may be secured; band concerts by mili
tary and concert organizations of Inter
national, national and local fame, and
thero will bo convened In San Francisco
the great Ulsteddfod nnd a choral com
petition In which will bo heard tho great
est choruses In the world.
In the realm of entertainment nothing
will be overlooked that can contribute
to tho thrill of tho wholesome pleasure
of the visitors.
