There were some pretty recent fat steers this rAornlng. but nothing very good. There was a fair demand for this late in the week and while the market was slow ad devoid ot interesting feat ures the offerings for the most part changed tvtnds In fair season. As to prices, there was very little or no change a compared with yesterday, but for the week the market on deslrablo Winds la 10&15c hlgtur than last week's HOOS Supplies were fair for a Friday, about 114 cars, or 8,000 head, bang re ceived. For the week to date the re ceipts foot up In the neighborhood of 32,425 houd, nearly 5.U00 larger than a week ago, and a llttlo over 12.000 heavier than for the same days ot last yeur. Other markets reported a sugnt aecune all along the line, but the local trade opened with shipper and speoulutur buy ers taking good heavy and butcher weight hogs at steady prices. Packer were not so anxious to get them, how ever, and their first bids lookud to be all Of a nickel lower. After the shippers' urders hod been filled trade became rather dull, as sellers were not inclined to cut loose at me figures proposea oy the packers, but values failed to strengthen to any great extent, and the bulk of the packers' putchases were made at a decline of about 5c A few loads of mixed underweight stulf that were In cluded In the offerings were hard to move and some salesmen weio of the opinion that tho decline on these kinds was greater than on the weightier stuff.
