Do you want to ensnare
a few dollars? Then hark
back to the eld adage
"Money saved it money
earntiL"
You can "earn" money
when you buy clothes if
you buy them judiciously.
Which, to your mind, is
more judicious to buy
from a merchant who is
continually shouting "bar
gains, specials, etc,,
(thereby running the con
stant risk of RcYitious or
manipulated prices)
Or to buy from a firm
like Magee & Deemer,
where prices on goods are
not one thing one day and
something else the next
but where a logical price is
set in the firft instance as
low as goods of equal qual
ity can be sold for any
where and then maintained
the season through with
equal advantage to every
one all the time ?
The answer seems to be
obvious: Buy where you
know there's no danger of
someone else getting the
same suit, hat or shirt a
day or two later at Va less
money. Buy where the
"bargains" are continuous,
rather than intermittent
where they consist of a full
equivalent in quality and
value for every cent you
spend.
Magee & Doemer (413.
S. 16th) specialists in
clothes, hats and furnish
ings for gentlemen, are
, thaigort of a firm.

Supporters of the University of Ne
braska foot ball team nre becoming very
much afrntd that Coach Stlehm may loso
ono of tho men upon whom he will rely
a great deal to make a winning team
next year. Ynle nlumnl residing In Ne
braska have sent such reports of pratso
of tho work of Chamberlain the star
half back of tho freshman team, who
made so many touchdowns on tho varsity
this fall, to tho athletic authorities at
Yolo that old Ell sent scouts to Lincoln
to observe the work of the freshman In
practice. Tho scouts wcro so Impressed
with his playing that they have blnce
teen trying to get Chamberlain to go
to Yale, starting this next semester.
Ynlr Scout llnsy.
Yalo scouts aro all over tho country,
looking for promising material, becuuso
of tho fact that Yule has had such weak
teams of lata years. The work of the
Nebraska boy so took their eye that
they Immediately made offers to him to
go to school at New Haven, and as a
result, tho activity of theso scouts Is
causing no end of worry at Lincoln and
among the Nebraska alumni around the
state.
Chamberlain Is tho man for Purdy's
position nnd great as Turdy Is, he Is an
Inferior player to Chamberlain. Cham
berlain Is recognized as one of tho great
est players since the days of Johnnlo
Bender, and thero are only two men on
the varsity squad this year who can
cuiiparc to the former Wosleyan boy.
Halllgnn and Rutherford are these men,
but they aro letter men nnd It would
bo impossible for Yale to acquire their
services.
Is All-Western Star.
Foot ball experts who have seen tho
freshman play are unanimous that he
will bo given a position on the nil-west-crn
eleven. Such a man would be a
valuable acquisition to Yalo.
The biggest Inducement Chamberlain
could be given to go to Yalo would be
his chances to make the alt-American
team. Ills chances for such an honor,
while on a western team, are almost nil,
because of the prejudice of thoso v.-ho
select such teams. A good example of
such selections occurred this year. OH
rhrlst, captain of the Navy team, was
given all-American end position. In 1903
Gilchlst played end on Missouri and was
only an ordinary player.

Spirited Battles
The opening game of the Church league
held at the Young Men's Christian asso

In the First Christian church defeating
the Westminster Presbyterian team, 21
to 8. Despite tho large' score secured by
the Christians, the game was fast and
hotly contested, one of the largest crowds
of the season witnessing the contest.
For the First Christian team the AVelgel
brothers were the stars. Time after time
the teamwork of there two players made
scores possible by their brilliant passing.
Tho sensational basket throwing of C,
Wclgel was by far the feature of the
game, he making eight of the points se
cured by his side.
For the Westminster Presbyterians,
