It. .Mr era I'.lrclril Prenldenf, 31. Chrl.tte Vict? rre.ltlent, A. 1 t'rclith' 9rcretnrj with Same Director. II. At Its regular meeting at noon at the Commercial club, the Heal Kstate ex change of Omaha passed a resolution In structing a committee, which Includes Harry Tukcy, chairman; K. M. Slater and H. M. Christie, to bring suit against the Metropolitan Water district of' Omaha on the matter of the recent ruling of the board, which states that the owner of property must guarantee the payment of water rates for tho occupants of the prop erty. The Keal Ketate exchange asserted that the ruling worked an Injustice on all real estate men who rent property and that It was, therefore, the duty of the exchange to file a test sutl In order to protect the Interests of the members. It was left to the discretion of the com mittee oa to tho time the suit would be brought, but It will probably be. In the very near future. Tho Water board has been compelling the real estate dealers of Omaha to guarantee the payments of atl water bills against tenants who re side on the property. According to the exchange, It Is the business of the Water board to protect Itself against bad debts In some manner against the debtor di rectly It Is maintained that tho ruling of tho board In that case does not, co incide with the constitution and the courts will be asked to decide the case. The exchange holds that the owner of property which Is leased to tenants is no more responsible for water bills than he would bo for grocery bills. When a tenant leases ground he assumes all obligations; It Is his ground to do as he pleases as long as his lease holds and If he uses water It Is his business to pay for the water, not the owners. Officers were elected for the ensuing year. F. It Myers was unanimously elected president at the request of the defeated candidates, who asserted that they -were unwilling candidates. H. M. Christie was elected vice president; E. M. Blater, treasurer; A. I. Crelgh, secretary'. The same board of trustees, who offici ated during the year Just ended, were elected to continue in that capacity. A nloody Affair Is lung hemorrhage. Judges to Meet to Decide on Changes of the Court Rules District Judges at a meeting to be called this week will decide whether a change In the docket system shall be put Into effect next January which would elim inate the separation of the courts Into law and equity divisions and result In all Judges trying cases as sent to them by the presiding Judge without regard to such distinction. Under the proposed plan, Instead of two equity dockets, as there are at present one for each equity court-there would be but one and an equity case might go to any Judge.
