CATTL15 Receipts wre quite moderate
again today and. following the light re
ceipts of yesterday, buyers were a little
more hungry for cattle than they were at
the beginning ot the week. For that
reason the market on killers took on a
better tone.
licit steers wnre strong to 10c higher
tan yeMcii'ny. TI10 quality of tho cattle
was none too good, there being an ab
nenoo of anything strictly choice In corn
fed. There wo a feeling that anything
strictly good In the way of medium
weights or light cattlo would have met
with quick sale at prices fully 10a higher.
' Cowa and heifer wore In moderate sup
ply, while thero was a very decent de
riiand. In consequence of this tho trndo
was reasonably active, with nrlccs rang
ing from strong to lOo higher than yester
day. Speculators still had a rood many
stockers on hand and wero not very anx
ious ror additional supplies; still, tnoy
bought the cattle offered, but at ho better
than steady prices.

HQOS Shippers started a reaction In
prices this morning. Early advlcea from
other points indicated a good strong feel
ing to the general trndo, and shippers
and speculator buyers were out In the
yards early, taking about a halt of the
offerings at prices that .were fully a
dime higher than yesterday. Packers,
however, refused to follow the early ad
vance and made their first bids at prices
that were no more than steady with' yes
terday' average.
Sellers were not Inclined io cut loose
at these figures., and the market conse
quently was very slow, nut tne pncicera
seemed very Indifferent as to whether
they got any hogs, and when the remain.
der ot the supply finally started to move
prices looked to be steady to possibly 6c
higher than yesterday's general market
Bulk of the sales was made at $7.COft7,C3,
and tops reached $7.75,
Supplies total about fKty-elght cars, or

sheep it was the smai est Thurs
day's run since the second week In Au
gust, tho receipts amounting to no more
than twenty-three cars, or 6,109 head,
being around 21.911 short of o. week axo
and 10,614 short nt the samo day a year
ago. With the exception of a few small
bunches of native offerings and a load
or two ot range stuff, everything waa on
the feeder order, being largely feeding
lambs.
Tho packers were all caser for a. few
killers and, the supply was very mra
ger, they went out and bought anything
