Gilt kdge Investment
Close Down Town
Reduced from $8,000 to $7,500
Without exception, this Is tho best investment prop
erty offered on tho market this year for tho money.
It's a very substantial two-story and basement duplex
apartment building with pressed brick sduth front,
ONLY FIVE BLOCK8 from the court houso, built less
than three years ago and occupied continuously by tho
same tenants since completion, without tho loss of a dol
lar, tho actual rental being $810 per yearto the owner.
This rental could bo considerable moro, but tho owner
wisely preforred pormancy of tenants to top-notch rent-
als. Both apartments are strictly modern in every do
tall, with large rooms; commodious floor plan, and each
have separate inside, aa well as outside, entrances to
basements. A, now duplex building Just across the streot,
identical in bzb and floor plan, was recently sold for
$ ?,2B0 conclusive evidonce that our price for the south
front building, just reduced from $8,000 to only $7,500,
is very low. No trade will be considered. Owner must
mis money. Would like half cash, but will consider a
moderate payment down and balanco on easy terms.

NEW YORK. Oct. lt.-Tha general
leveling of prices which overshadowed all
other developments In last week's stock
market was resumed with Botne effect
today. Prices yielded from one to three
points In many active stocks, while stocks
of less prominence lost greater ground.
The bulk erf tho selling occurred during
the morning session, which was followed
by extreme dullness and some later re
covery, chiefly In United States Steel,
Amalgamated Copper and Reading.
While securities woro at no time
urgently offered, It was plain that suppljj
was somewhat In excess of demand.
Among tho leader Southern Pacific was
the feature of greatest weakness, its de
cline to the lowest price in five years
being directly associated wtlh the pro
posed suit of the government to force
dissolution of Southern Pacific and Its
most valuablo asset, Central Pacific
Surface conditions rolnt to the. revival
of a large and aggressive short Interest,
whose operations havo taken on greater
scop by reason of numerous adverse
factors. These include tho abandonment
of the Union Pacific "distribution" plan,
tho Mexlcun situation and flnancal con

cially London, are again In a stato of
congestion, as attested by last week's
unsuccessful underwriting. Berlin's mar

mum decline of four points in that stock
.V0-1 "Jpne'ary conditions were easier,
this resulting chiefly from diminished de

CHICAGO QRAIN AND PROVISIONS
Features of the Tradinv and Closing;
Irlce on Board of Trade,
CHICAGO. Oct 14. Wheat prices tum
bled today .to the lowest point 10 far on
this year's crop.
Bearish cables were what chiefly
smashed the market and left the close
nervous, TiQla down. Corn showed a net
loss of 0'H to a and oats a drop of UP
lHc In provisions the outcome varied
from 17Hc decline to an advance of 2Hc
wears seizea control ot wheat right at
the start The Liverpool market had
undergone a sham setback, owl r to
heavy shipments from Uie Black sea
and because of Increased selling pressure
from Auntrolla. In addition, the crop re
ports from Argentina continued to be a
flattering character,
Visible supply stocks of wheat ' both
European and domestic, made gains and
thus formed an additional weight on
prices. The Canadian visible, too, exhib
ited ah Increase, although of a less
formidable sort Diminishing of the re
ceipts northwest was Ignored, as state
ments were current that rural elevators
were filled ub, and that any accumula
tion now would have to be shipped to ter
minal cltUe.
Corn suffered from the bearish effects
of reported sales of Argentina corn at
the seaboard and because of unusual
weakness at Buenos Ann. Th tin.
weather of the last few days tended also
10 onng out ueciaea activity on the
selling side. Kansas dispatches told ot
in siiionoia condition with feed
ing demand likely to be Indefinitely post
poned. Oats sagged with corn and wheat.
A huge enlargement of the visible supply
total hindered any effort at a rally.
Weakness In ocarse grain as well as In
the hog market deprived provisions deal
ers of all Idea that Important tuptums
could bo forced. Packers unloaded, es
pecially lard.

Stocker cows and heifers wero In good
demand and prices showed little or no
change. On the other hand fat cows
were slow to a little lower, but c&nnera
continue to command high prices.
Stock cattle and feeders were slow and
anyhero from weak to lOo lower. Homo

very moderate run for a Tuosday com

out slowly at nhout steady prices, thx
early sales Including a four carlot at 17,
which was top for the day, A little later
trade seemed to become slower and to
ward the close prices. If anything, had
a weak tendency, there being some sales
nisi looaea a trine lower than tne way
the bulk of the lambs sold yesterday. A
range of 84.8547.00 would take In prao
tlcally all tho fat lambs at all decent for
killing on sale. It might be mentioned
that most outside points reported a slow
deal In the general trade.
Six or seven cars of fat wethers, among
which wero a few yearlings, and a couple
of cars of fat ewes constituted tho entire
aupply of agod sheep, and as most all
buyers wanted some mutton offerings,
trade was aottve and prices were steady
to strong. As nn yesterday, fat ewes sold
up around 3l,254.SO, and a string of weth
ers brought 14.70.
As Is often the esse, early In the fore,
noon the feeder trade was rather slow,
hut In the end trade acquired a little
life, the supply being moderate and quite
nJ w. b"yr" coming In from the country.
