'Corn finished 44ETic down and oats off WQc. but provisions at 2"4fa) 22Ko adVance. wheat prices broke lQlWo a bushel before the Tores of the drive could be checked. Cable advices were that both Canada and Russia had lowered offers In-order to bring about sales. Then came tne news that northwestern receipts con tinued heavy and this was followed bv word that the southwestern movement had increased so that the primary ar rivals as a whole surpassed even the huge total reached a year ago. un tne reoouna wneat as a ruio passed Into stronger hands, the smaller shorts meanwhile grabbing profits. Absence ot export demand served to -halt the up turn. Feeling at the close was steady. Corn 'Suffered a violent decline on ac count of belated liquidation on tho part of bulls and because ot selling pressure by speculators who were taking advan tage of the situation. Flno weather, which, It was predicted, would last sev eral days, increased the depression and there were reports of unlimited offers of cheap Argentina corn at New York. The decline, however, resulted in - tho shut ting down of rural offerings and In a consequent stampede of shorts. uats were mainly governed oy other grain,, though having special cause for weakness, namely, rival shipments from Canada to Buffalo. Boston and New York. Provisions bulged after being easy In the' first part' of' the session. The run of hogs at western markets were liberal, but packers took the buying side and kept the pit bare of offers. Artiolel Open. I High.)
