OMAHA, Sept 24, 1913.
The sham divllnn lata In yesterday's

leaders In the Chicago trade unloading
holdings na fast as tmnalhln on the de

level of prices for the year. In a way
the Chicago trade was under a strain be
cause of bearish conditions In the north
west and abroad. An effort was made on

rains for today helped buyers a little.
out in very heavy movement 01 wueat
to northwest markets was a bearish fea

top of this, about midday came the Brad
street's figures, showing about 15,000,000
uuineis increase in me worta s siocks mo
last week. There was a rather sharp
break in the cash wheat here in Omaha.
Northwest messages declared that Duluth
must soon hedge increasing stocks In the
Chtcugo market. The selling pressure
became 00 great and the decline so pro
nounced that wheat came Into the mar
ket on stop orders all tho way down. The
giving up of. the fight by a large biuusn
clement In the Chicago trade, coupled
with the depressing figures on northwest
movement and world's stocks, turned the
entire trade to a large extent to a bear
ish view of the market.
Cash wheat was Uo to ?o tower.
Fairly good support was noted In corn
futures during the morning yesterday,
Influenced, no doubt by the predictions
of wet weather for nearly the entire
country, to be followed by still colder
weather than before. Traders say that
tne corn market is almost certain to drag
lower in case of a further break in
wheat They claim a level may be es
tablished tn the near future, where It

showing nearly l,D0O carloads of wheat
expected to reach Winnipeg tomorrow, In
addition to almost 1,200 carloads which
arrived today. There were signs that
much of this wheat was being hedged
In Chicago and tho market here gave
way, tired longs f liquidating and short

Opportune buying on a large scale by
lending concerns rallied wheat nrlce
somewhat during the final half hour, but
bearish sentiment prevailed In thd end.
An earlier attempt to put a atop to the
weakness had likewise been only, half
way a success, chiefly because of the ab
sence of export demand.
Corn succumbed with wheat. Lower
European prices and diminished shipping

The fact that Illinois husking returns

HOGS-Wllh tho exception or the fact
that shippers did not buy quite so heavily
today a maraet was almost a repetition
of Tuesday's, Other points reported a
wAaker tendency to values and local
packers mado their first bids at prices
that looked to be 6$l0o lower. Little
wan ilnno durtiiff the first rounds, sellers
holding out for steady prices, but ft com
promise was coon etieciea anu tne duik
of the hogs began to move slowly at a
decline of anywhere from a shade to aa
muoh as 6c. Some scattering sales were
quoted aa bslng steady, but there were
not many of them, and it la safe to quote
ih. mirliti. as weak to a nickel lower.
Most of the sales landed at 8.0C38.0&
and tops sold aa high as js.io, just me
same as on Tuesday. Trade was more
or less draggy throughout, and It was
well along In the forenoon before the
moderate supply was cleaned up.
Receipts were rBiiumieu ai w cars, or
rot h..l. mskinc the supply for the
three days something like 12,898. This Is
inna mallar than last week, but
Is more than 1.000 larger than for the
same days ot last year.
