day in the. gelatine mlxtntr house ot the
Dupont powder works at Olbstown, N. J.,
near here.
The four men killed were, simply
obliterated. According to workmen the
only part ot any of the four found was
a lifthd.
Only four men were employed in the
gelatine building. Officials of the com
pany said that no one will ever know
what caused the explosion.

pile at Kelly Butte were formed into a
bdbket brigade by Sheriff Word today
and fought flames that were destroying
the wooden stockade around their prison.
It was started by the explosion of the
boiler. Engineer Charles Uatchel being
blown from the engine room and con
verted into a human torch. The engineer
ran 100 feet to a huge watering trough
and managed to put out the flames,
though not until he received burns from
which he may die.
An alarm was sent to the sheriff's
office, several miles away, and deputies
rushed to the seen in automobiles. In
