Is 25,184 head, a gain of about 1,000 head
aa compared with a week ago and a year
ago.
Adv'ces from other points Indicated
sllchtly lower nrlces and first bids were
made at figures that were generally 6o
lower. Shipper buyi-ia had good sited
orders again today and as was the caso
od Wednesday they soon brought packer
bids up to a steady basis. As soon as
Prices became aa good as they were yes
terday sellers began to cut loose and
while trade waa not very active prac.
tlcally everything hrd been sold In fair
season. Shippers bought the r hogs at
prices that were In moat cases strong
to possibly a little higher, paying aa
high as ti&O for a few loads ot good
stuff. Bulk of the sales was made at
37.80J7,90, with the long string selling at
17. SS. A few loads that came In nn a
late train found the demand very Black
and prices weaker. Buyers had filled
about all their order and consequently
to
wero not particular whether they, bought
