Deputy Election Commissioner II. 12,
Ostrotn has figured up the total number
of registrations up to July 14, and the
respective number registered In each
party. The republicans have a Urge ma
jority over the democrats, the two lead
ing parties. The total number of re
publicans registered on July 14 was 4,537
as against 2,935 democrats. Four hundred
and flfty-stx refused to give their affilia
tion. Tho total number of registrations
at the date was ,578. Following Is the

Daniel Donolxie, Chicago chauffeur,
who took U upon himself to Impersonate
an officer Friday night and arrest two
Innocent pedestrians, plead guilty In po
lice court and was sentenced to ninety
tfaya In the county jail. He said he had
done the thing only In fun, but from the
putftt taken from his person the police
believe they have corralled a first class
"sUckup" artist.

Arrested on a charge of beating a
woman and stabbing a man early this

The annual picnic of the members of
the Odd Fellow lodges of Omaha, 8outh
Omaha, Uenson and Florence, held nt
Florence Saturday afternoon, was a pro
nounced nuccft. The program was car
ried out In detail, with the exception of
the chicken race, which was declared off
on account of the hen roosts of the town
being locked nnd therefore tho com
mittee was unable to find a chicken to
place In the racing ring.
Thro were more than 1,000 Odd Fellows,
members of their families and Rebekah
lodges in attendance. The events on the
program started shortly after 2 o'clock
and the lost number of tho dance, tho
final feature, was not concluded until
well along toward midnight. Hie affair
was In charge of the following commit
tees, the members of which did every
thing In their power to make the affair
pleasant for tho visitors.

purses of Ed McKenna, Thomas Moss,
a' laborer living at Seventh and Seward
streets, obtained a brace of revolvers
early yesterday afternoon and attempted
to kill the man whllo his mother looked
on. When the police came he was still
shooting, nnd McKenna was barricaded
behind n, pile of logs. While Moss was
being disarmed, McKenna mode his es
cape and Is still at large. A pool of
blood near where he was hiding while
young Moss was tiring leads the police
to think that he Is badly wounded,
