at His Old Home
Word has been received In Omaha, of
the death of J. V. Weitzell at his old
home In Tjogan, O., where he passed
away Monday morning after a linger
lncr Illness, aged about IS years.
Mr. Weltsell had been employed by the
Illinois Central Railroad company over
twenty-five years having entered the
general offices a a -clerk. To him pro
motions came: raplory. Ha 'occupied tho
ibslUon of chief clerk In the general of
Jtlces at Louisville, Xy.; Memphis, Tenn.,
and New Orleans. Then he wa pro
moted to division freight agent at -Evans-
vllle, Ind.. which position he held at the
time he was sent to Omaha as assistant
general freight agent. Ho came to this
city In December. 1K9. when the Illinois.
Central built Into Omaha from Fort
Dodge. Ia.. and opened headquarters
here.
Remaining In Omaha until May 1. 111
Mr. Weltsell was transferred to St Louis
&s assistant -general freight agent there.
This position he held at the time of his
death. His health began to fall early
this yeaf, and February T be was given
leave of absence of one year, retaining
his position and title.
Wlille In Omaha Mr, Weltsell married
May Her, the daughter of P. B, Her. He
la survived by "his widow and daughter.
