PIOI'X CITY. la.. April 27.-(Speclal
Telegram.) Before the biggest crowd
seen at Mizzou park since the. days when
Sioux City was winning pennants, Onialia
and Sioux City struggled for supremacy
today, the Sioux finally winning. G to 3.
Groun rules occasioned by the overflow
crowd produced many two baggers, a
trio of which, In the fourth Inning, gave,
the locals their margin In the4 final tally.
With the exception of tho fourth In
ning, batfest Peters had a shade the
best of White In the pitching department I
through of the battle though he slowed j
up perceptibly toward the finish.
I'mplre Anderson had a hard day of It '
and Ids award of a two-bagger on a drive '
against the fence in tho eighth round '
lesultcd In so vigorous a protest on the
part of Manager Arbogast that the man
ager was ordered from the grounds. An
derson's decisions on strikes and balls
were the occasion of much protest on
both sides, the Omaha twlrler getting a j
particularly raw deal In the fourth when ,
Davidson was walked.
O'Miilin I.cnalM In Second.
Sioux City scored first In the first In
ning on an error by Schlpke ' and a
single by Davidson after Cooncy, had
stolen second. Omaha took the lead in
the second frame, when Katie walked.
Grubb doubled Into the crowd and Kane
came homo on. a .neat ,sacrlfqo fly. by,
Johnson, which camo nea.r denting the
center field fence.
The. third Omaha tally camo In the
eighth inning rally", which for a time
looked like a winner. With Coyle out on
a long fly. Thomason drew a pass. Con
galtou and Kane singled filling the bases.
Orubb landed safe on an error by Smith,
which let Thomason home. Johnson came
to bat and sent tho ball a mile high
and over the fence just at the foul line.
Anderson ruled It In foul territory amide
much protest on tho part of Omaha and
it was this particularly ruling which
worked tho visiting manager up to the
point of getting fired from the grounds
in the second half of the Inning. The
decision was an extremely difficult one,
the ball apparently swinging across tho
foul line tape after it had dropped be
low tho top of tho fence. Johnson wai
out on a grounder .which the catcher
recovered alpng the first base lino.
While Gets I I ml Strike Oat.
In the ninth Inning White got his first
strike out with Schlpke as the victim.
Neff came to bat for Peters and sent a
slzzlcr to the back field fence. Clarke,
hokever, elongated himself sufficiently
to spear tho fly and spoil a pretty drive.
