The bill provides that the h6urs of each day may be so arranged as to permit the employment of such fjmales at any time from 6 a, m. to 10 p. m., but in no caad shall auch employment exceed nine hours in any one day. It provides fur ther that such female shall' r.ot be em ployed 'between the" hours of .,10 p". m. and 6 p. in. This latter Is the clauie from which the public service corpora tions are exempt. The law specifically ays that public sen-Ice corporations may employ such female labor between the hours of 10 p. m. and 6 a. m.. but In no event shall such employment be for more than eight consecutive hours. law Is enforced In Omaha. He says also that he docs not believe it will affect the department stores or factories to any great extent In the city, but that it may affect some of the smaller establishments where girls have been asked to work longer hours than they should. These will be among the rajst difficult canes to detect, but Dr. Pouter says as soon as the law goes Into effect he Is going to see' that it' Is enforced.
