THE BEE: OMAHA, TUESDAY, APRIL 1, 1913. GRAIN AND PRODUCE MARKET Visible Supply of Wheat in Excess of Year Ago. NU ilEMAND FOR CASH CORN While Yellow Cerent Goes Bes;- Klnsf In the Hunt for Actual Buyers. j ; OMAIIA. March SI. WIS. V further decrease In the visible sup Ply of. wheat will be shown by the of ficial reports which will be posted today 4n cJa .the wire service la In condition to handle the reports from the varlolua points making up the figures. The sup ply of wheat In the visible Is largely In excess of a yearugo. and the falling off in the report will rail to act as a bullish holp because of the liberal receipts at primary markets, which will show the bis Increase the coming; week with adequate (Willroad facilities for handling the Brain destined to the larger markets. Nearly nvery condition and clrcuatanctr .surround, lng the wheat situation at the present favors the bears. -These factors are ot tho telling kind on prices, as they In clude the almost perfect crop promise jthroughbut the winter .wheat belt and the lack of on active trade In cash wheat, of wjhieh tho country now holds large stocks. There is doubtless mow rash grain being; sold by Chicago people than Is known to the world, as the liberal amount or hard wheat IK thS "southwest 1s being rapidly reduced, and this reduction Is the consequence ot liberal takings by Chi cago exporters for shipments abroad. The business on milling account, however, has been reduced to a minimum, and. the fact that It has been Impossible to move wheat io interior points owing to tne many vashouts on the railroads,. andv business has fallen Mown remarkably. One of the leading train men of the Canadian west, and who was In Omaha Saturday, talked rather bullish on the situation In that country. He made the claim that the stocks of wheat In the Hands of farmers, as well as In eleva tors ot western Canada, are small, and that the carry-over Into another crop Vlll be the lightest In the history of that country. Cash wheat was lc to lHo higher. .Btronc Interests arn generally credited wjth being committed to tlra long side of corn, ana as beansn operations nave been unsuccessful the last two months .the bears are unwilling to take any great uinuuui ox pumsnmeni. mere is nu ut mand for cash corn In the east and stocks are piling up in the west. Heavy shipments will be made Into Chicago with the opening, ot navigation. Cash corn was V4c higher. -The export situation In oats Is at an end and Argentina is underselling the unitea states, ana tne uusiness in me cast has been completely . tied up by washouts. EFFECT WAS SENTIMENTAL Decline of n Point Was General nt Openlnsr, bnt After Fifteen Mlnntes Deesae Nor msl, NEW YORK, Maroh M. The stock market was llttio disturbed by the death ot J. P. Morgan. The news from Rome was the overwhelming feature ot the day In the financial district, but Its effect was largely sentimental. Reports during the last few weeks had oreDnred the street for the news -which came today and as It was received one hour before the opening of the market there was ample time for protective measures. It was assumed from the outset that the market would be kept welt In hand, but the degree ot resistance shown was sur prising to traders. The moderate decline of Americans In London before the opening here gave a lairiy accurate estimate or tne eueci on securities of Mr. Morcan'n death. De clines of a point or less were general, but nerore trading had been under way m teen minutes the list rallied strongly. Steel, the chief Moraran stock. Was fairly active, but If decline was confined to a point. By the end of the first hour louses were virtually maae up. The highest level was not maintained, however, the list going to the low point before noon. Tightening of call money to the highest rate of the year was a depressing mtiuence. uovernor Buizera approval of the "full crew" bill, which Is expected to increase expenses ot rail roads In this state considerably, was an other factor. Prices rose again in the afternoon, but trading became dull. Call money touched 7 per cent It was retmrted that Berlin was renewine It bids In this market for money, offering 8H and $ per cent for thirty-day runds. The bond marKet was irregular.
