TO OUR PATRONS
The terrible disaster which visited our city last night has meant a loss
common to every citizen of Omaha. It is at such times that men do well
to exercise the utmost of forbearance and display whatever patience they
can command.
The damage to the system of the Omaha Electric Light & Power Company
can only be estimated in many thousands of dollars. The path of the storm
took such a direction as to practically sever the line at the most vulnerable
spots, leaving communication with all sub-stations interrupted
Immediately after the storm hundreds of men were put to work clearing
the lines of debris, and doing such rebuilding as was possible at that time.
These workmen are at present employed in making work among the ruins pos
sible by cutting all lines so as to clear the district of live wires, and dangerous
leaning poles.
To our patrons who have been visited by the catastrophe we extend our
mot sincere sympathy, and to those who are discommoded by the loss of our
service we give the assurance that our every effort is in their behalf, and that
service will be resumed as early as possible.
H. A. HOLDREGE, General Manager.
