HOG43 Today's supply was rather gen
truus, there being about 229 cars or 18,000
head yarded, This Is somewhat larger
thn Ut wtek, smallsr Uiun two wtttlts
ago. nnd about the sninr number as wero
hem a year ago
( Trade, was rather slow In getting under
p way this morning. Opening bids were
niotind MjriOc higher than yesterday, but
sellers wero Inclined to wait for better
money, holding their offerings at figures
that were lOtflSc higher. After a period
of Inactivity they finally settled down to
ousiness on a generally we nigiier imsm.
I Except at tho best time, trade was fclow
' and uneven Bates of certain grades of
stuff could be picked out that hardly
showed the full advantage, and on the
other hand there worn some thnt looked
to be ns much as lOirtf-o above yesterday's
figures. At the best It was a featureless
affair nnd as some trains wero a little
late It was well along towards noon bi
fore everything was sold The close was.
If anything, slower than any other ttm,
nnd soma salesmen believed that values
were a llttlo lower. Owing to tho uneven-
,ness of thti trado comparisons with yenter
1 day can duly be approximated, but the
! general market waa around a dime higher
than yesterday.
Most or the hogs sold around tf.VojfS.UV
Wltll tho most of the miles nt 17.95. unci
speculators bought some good lights -nrly
as high an $.0G. 15o higher than yester
. day's top.
