While a good sharo of the offerings

for holding out for at least steady prices,
but aa later messages Indicated murn or

SliKKP Receipts wrre liberal again
this morning, for In tho neighborhood of 72
cars, or about 15,000 head, were received
st tho yards. This Is considerably more
than last Tuesday and two weeks ago,
nnd more than twlco as large ns on tne
sumo day last year, t'nllke the last few
days the supply ran largely to lambs
and sheep offerings made up tho small
end of tins receipts, thero being only u
fair supply of ewes nnd no wethers of
yrnrllugn to speak of. While thero were
u few toads of both prime lambs and
ewes offered, the supply of choice stuff
nfl sumewhat limited. Among the offer
ings wero about a doxen cars of feeding
hiiiibs and yearlings shipped In from
Idaho.
The packer buyers were very Indifferent
buyers when bidding for lambs, ami tua
situation did not look nt all good to sell
ers. Tli in In all probability wan mainly
due to n liberal supply In sight, whlcu
afforded the buyers an excellent oppor
tunity to hold down prices. On the wholo
the lamb trade was slow und even druggy
sometimes, with prices showing no pl
tlrular change from yesterday. Karly In
tho morning a sale of lumbs was tnado
at IS.'jO.
A very moderate supply of sheep en
abled sellers to sell them to a great ad
vantage whrn compared with lambs.
What fat owes were on sale sold fully
10iri5o higher and sellers were not long
In disposing of what they had to offer.
Somu fed western ewes sold as nigh as
$5.(5, ns ngnlnst $5.30, the top pries paid
for iUvcm on Monday. Thoro were really
not enough wethers or yearlings on ralu
to thoroughly test values, though they
showed about the samo Improvement nj
owes.
