Norman was elected to serv a fifth term ns president ot the Central Labor union nt the semi-annual election held last night at Barlght's hall. He won out over T. P. Reynolds, by one vote. T. P. Reynolds was elected vice presi dent nnd John Pollan rcoordlng secretary. W. L. Marks was mado financial secre tary and M. N. arlfflth sergcant-at-arms. J. J. Kerrigan, C. L. Shamp and H. F. Shamp were chosen trustees. The members present voted unanimously against the majority report of the Work man's Compensation bill, which has been Introduced In tho state legislature. They favored a bill drawn along the lines of the minority report, of the commission appointed to draft the compensation bill. II. F. Sarmon, C. L. Shamp, J. J. Ker rigan, Joseph Laux and T. P. Rey nolds, were appointed as a committee to draft a bill similar In somo respects to tho minority report A communication from the promoters ot the Made-ln-Nebraska show, asking tho union to arrange for a special night at tho show, which Is to be held early In March, was tabled, some of. the mem bora objected because of the partiality shown non-union labor by Nebraska man ufacturers. A resolution was Introduced asking tho Central Labor union to confer with tho World-IIcrald to encourage tho hir ing of union pressmen and assistants. Henry Mon zon. a negro who shot und killed tho 12-year-old daughter of D. Merrcll, a farmer, near Pecan Gup, a week ago, was hanged lata today from a telephone poll In the public square, by a mob. The negro was taken from tho sheriff and his depu ties after ho had pleaded guilty nnd had been sentenced to bu hanged.
