honor of their son, Mr. Jack Baum, and
hla bride. Mrs. Baum was formerly Mist
Gertrude Fltzerald of Chicago and has
visited In Omaha, on numerous occasions
and ha many friends here, t'ho affair
will be mostly for the younger set.

writes an original verse with, music, the

lug the opening of the pew. club rooms
on the top floor of the Board of Trade
building, southwest conur of Farnam, at
Sixteenth street. The entire floor has
been practically reconstructed for housing
the organisation. The ball room Is on
the south sldo of the bulldlnr. occupying
the entire apace allotted to the billiard
room, and the southern half of the dining
room when the Commercial club occupied
these quartern. The, new quarters have
been fitted up in a! manner that gives
them . simple dignity and makes them
among the prettiest club rooms In thy
city. The appointments show the excel
lent taste of the directors and reflect
credit upon the committee who had In
charge the planning and arrangement of
the quartettrs.
At the Country Club
The first of three subscription dunces
were given Saturday evening at the Coun
try club. Mra. Frank Wllhelm and Miss
Helen Davis organized the club, which
includes in Its membership a number of
young married couples and several
Omaha bachelors. The bachelors can se
lect their partners for each dance. The

The formation of a Junior branch Is
being planned by the member of the
Omaha Society of Fine Arts. A com
mittee has been appointed which Includes
Mrs. liowrle Child. Mrs. Oeorge A.
Joslyn and Mrs. A. W. Jefferis, who will
frame an amendment and present' It to
the constitutional committee, and this
amendment will be brought up at the
meeting of the society January 9, when
the members 'will vote on its acceptance.
Mrs. C W. rtuMell. president of the
kocjety, in speaking of the new organ
ization, said that many of the active
members are enthusiastic over the Junior
branch.
It is believed that the organization of
this society will be popular, as there
are so many young ladle In the city
who delre to Join the art society, but
owing to the limited seating- capacity of
the auditorium In the library jt has been
impossible for the society- to increase its
membership.
The branch will be under the super
vUion of the Omihx Society of Pine Arts
and will make use of the same slides
