THIS BBK: OAIAUA, TUESDAY, DECEMBER 17, 19.1? 11 GRAIN AND PRODUCE MARKET Boutinc Statistics Favor the Bear Side in Wheat. WHEAT IS OPEN FOR DEBATE There Una llecn Ontslde Speculation 'or Some Tim and mi Improved Volume im Essential for HtrrtiRthaiilnr ot Price. -, . , OMAHA, Dec. IS. 1M2. ..e.Mt fttvored the bear side of Mneat this morning. This Is because of the general belief tlxit routine statistics, wnich will bo spread out before the spec ?i ftlv world today, will favor tho bear f Vi Vheat ts now said to bo on de batable pound. This condition Is caused ...i '"proved business In tho cat article on both domestic and export ac counts, coupled with a better flour trade by the interior millers of thn northwest, "s well as by the winter wheat millers or tho southwest. Those who are malting fales of cash wheat for shipment abroad are doing so In a sub rosa way, although yhen asked as to tho volume of trade they generally mako little of It. From the clearances of Saturday last there is a great deal of export business being dono In wheat. Of course, a great deal of these clearances Is old business, but the new business has been sandwiched In and Is Included In the shipments from our shores. Tho bears In wheat Beom to be losing bcurt, as there are fewer in the trade who carp to .put out a big short line and stand on it, awaiting a profit. In a can vass of the Chicago trado on Saturday at tho close thero were less than half a dozen big men who cared to express a bearish opinion on this grain following the long drawn out declines which have been seen there the last few months. The average speculator In. any grain believes. In "natural reactions" without a pro nounced causo for the same. The most successful traders In commodities believe Uiat a decline will run Just so far and no further, when a reaction and advance is certain to be Seen. There has been a little trade In the way of 'outside specula lation for soma time- and an Improved volume is essential for a general strengthening of prices. Cash wheat un changed to Ho lower.
