Along wllh the lowest prices for wheat
In the present crop Is the poorest demand.
This combination Is truly a bearish factor
and sentiment favors the short side In a
most pronounced way. Wheat ha now
declined to such a level where the pro
ducer cannot boast Qf much profit In It
and, owing to tho enormous quantity
raised In the I'nlted States and Canada,
coupled with the prospects In the Vouth
ern hemisphere, there Is little on which
to base a claim for a reaction and ad
vance from the present prices. Nearly
every pleco of news to come forward
irom day to day has favored tno near
or short side of breadstuff. The actual
wheat Is moving out of the hands of
growers and country elevators In a man
ner seldom witnessed In the history of
the Chicago market. Omaha, St. Louis
and Kiumn nilv received 2.604.000 bushels
yesterday, which was 1,834,000 bushels In
excess of a year ago. This wheat, Instead
of going Into consumption or being
shipped out of the country, Is Piling up
In different positions nnd will soon be
counted Into the already Increasing vlsl-

by a conservative trader was that new
No. 3 corn Is selllng'at a discount of 1
cent under December which Is unusual for
this season and It Is not believed that it,
will encourage a rush of corn to nurket
that will Justify short sales of December
at present prices. Bears regard tho mar
ket as a salo on every bulge, until there
Is a better demand for cash corn. It Is a
general Impression that farmers In many
sections are not prepared to feed cattle
and hogs on a largo scale and conse
quently n larger perrentago of corn than
usual Is likely to find Its way to market.
It Is likely that cheap corn will be u
strong probability In tho nest few months.

Oats were relatively stronger man tno
other grain yesterday and would proba

movement was fair, and December oats

CHICAGO, Nov. 20.-Export sales at
Kaunas City rallied wheat today after
tho market had touched a new low level
for this year's crop. Closing prices were
firm, 4c to o abovo last night. Corn
showed a net advance of HSHc and
oats a gain of Vic to He In provisions
the outcome varied from Co decline to a
rise of &0u.
Highest prices of the day In wheat came
Jim before the last bell. The market
had been comparatively Indifferent to ad
vices concerning export business at New
York as tho bulk was believed to be
Canadian. Large sales to Europe from,
Kansas City, however, for shipment from
Gulf cities, had a stimulative effect hero
and were declared to mean that South
western hard winter grades had reached
a competing basis wllh Canadian spring.
Favorable weather In Argentina and
Australlla and large offers from Russia
at Liverpool tended to keep wheat de
pressed hero tho greater part of tho tlmo.
A heavy Increase of stocks at Minneapolis
gave further advantage to tho beur sldo
until foreign activity at Kansas City
brought about a rebound.

and 904c with final sales Vo net higher

Fear of a saueexe In December con
tracts led to an upturn In corn. Tho
country was said to be offering but llttlo
