Omaha, November 12. 1912.
The situation In wheat, as viewed from
an Inpartlal standpoint, may be called
quite bearish. The Buenos Aires market
continues to decline because of a most ex
cellent crop promise In the Argititlue Re
public. The Canada wheat crop has
scarcely been touched, so that In the Im
mediate luturu the country to the north
of us and 'South America will be sharp
competitors for the trade In Europe. The
United States has a large wheat surplus
and It will be necessary to absorb a good
portion of this grali In order to place the
market where It cannot be attacked by
short sellers or bears. Receipts of 14,0tt),OiW
bushels of wheat at primary markets in
seven days, or double tho receipts for the
corresponding time a year ago, show that
there are many In the trade who are will
ing to let god of their grain at present
price levels. It has been nearly a week

to show bearncss this week, especially for
May corn, which has the appearance oi
a safe sale on tho hard spots. On a sharp
break, some look for active uuying oi
December corn especially If the weather
Is unsettled. Cash corn was MOW lower.

Gradual Losses In London
DenlliiH.
NEW YORK, Nov. 11 -After four
hours of Irregularity, during which
pi-Ires rose and felt within ono point lim
its, today's stock market suddenly
turned weak in the hut hour, not only
wiping out all gains but In several Im
portant Instances, notably Fnlted State.-
Stl, going under last week's low level
The selling In the late dealings whs
only moderate and the decline altogether
gradual. The only previous break In the
monotony of the session was during the
noon hour, when tho list suffered a sharp
reversal on news from Washington that
tho supreme court would, render no de-
lsion today in me several suns 01 cape
lal Interest to Wall street. Including tho
Union Paclflo-Southern Pacific merger,
Foreign conditions were negatively
helpful to the day's reactionary move
ment, Iondon's prices for American
stocks showed more lotrcs than gains
and tho British metropolis had Its own
troubles In connection with the fort
nightly settlements and the posslblo dis
solution of the libel nl ministry. Uncer
tainties growing out of the BAlkan situa
tion were an added factor, not only In
London, but nt the Frenuh and German
capitals.
Call money touched 6 per cent lowiirus
the end of tho dav. but time rates eased
n fraction by roason of lust Saturday's
hotter Dank statement, tub one cnoernii
note of the day was contained In traffic
advices from the middle west, which
allowed that tho business of the railways
nt tho moment Is limited only by tho
capacity of equipment.
Bonds were lower on a tair lustrum-
tlon of offerings, Total sales par vuluo
aggregated $2.03S.00. United States gov
eminent bonds were unchnnged on rnll.

HOOB-Condltlons surrounding the early
trade In hogs seemed very gloomy with
business commencing on a ievei mm i
dime lower than Saturday's general mar
a. iiai thei lobbers were the cnle
facto'rs during the first hour and bought
about their usual proportion ui mo "i
..1., Ti,. ,uilrH ware slow in coming
out and wure even more bearish than the
Jobbers, but the sellers were inclined to
hold out for better prices. While, a few
hogs changed hands at $7.60 the bulk of
the offerings was disposed of around $7.63
itfl.10. thus making the general market
about 10 cents lower than the close of last
week. Two or three loads of the. best
hogs on sale sold us high us $7.73, highest
n.iM rnr tint rlttv. and lust u nickel below
Saturday's top. Trade was fairly active
early, but as the market progress! the
movement became more lively, with price
showing considerable improvement Quite
a few pigs showed up In the receipts und
there was apparently a poor demand for
anything of that description. The major
Ity of the pigs showed a decline of fully
25o when compared with the way they
were selling at the enu 01 last. ween.
The recelDts were very liberal, the sup
ply being almost twice as large as last
Monday, greater than two weeks ago and
much In excess of arrivals hero on the
same day a year ago. There being, as
nuoted. above a very good movement of
the offerings most of the morning, prac
tlcoiiy everything was cleaned up In
very fslr Scsson.
