The Omaha crowd was much in evi dence with their pennants, badges and numerous noise-making devloea. C. W. McDonald, manager of the Marion Auto company, will continue as dis tributor for the Marlon car In Nebraska and western Iowa in addition to handling the Marmon, the Ohio and the Standard Electric One of. the IMS model Marion cars was on exhibition last week in ma chinery hall at the Lincoln state fair. The 1913 Overland is being handled this season by the Van Brunt' Auto company at Council Bluffs. This car in color 1 an Overland blue with gray wheels and the bright parts nlokel plated with black trimmings. ' M. W. Montgomery, manager of the In terstate Auto company, was in Lincoln last week demonstrating new models of the Interstate car at the state fair. Since the Cole Motor Car company ha moved into the former quarters of the Auburn Auto company at 1910 Farnam street the Auburn salesrooms are located on Farnam street between Twenty-fifth and Twenty-sixth. The National Automatic Fender com pany of Omaha has placed on the market a fender designed to prevent personal in Jury in case the auto collides With pedes trians. The pur pose of the firm will be to purchase and sell autos,- especially second-hand cars, and to manufacture tops, covers, slips and other equipment. ' According to the statement of, Secre tary Seymour of the State Board of As sessment and Equalization there are 16,078 autos for taxation purposes In Ne braska this year. The assessed valuation the entire state Is $1,614,04.. During this month the Omaha-Topeka Road association, which was organized in May, will make a complete log of the route to be used and will formulate; plans for the permanent Improvement and maintenance of the road. The matter will be taken up with commercial clubs along the line In Nebraska and Kansas. Work on the Nebraska Automobile asso ciation road guide is being rushed rapidly by the publishers, the Hammond Printing company, at Fremont. This book will con tain maps of all the counties in the state showing the railroads and motor roads in colors.
