V -ttWestertf Dfs " Moines cannot 'kick ' about- the "breaks" much longer. In Monday morn ing's game the Rourkes lost to the Boost ers after Hall had held them to four hits and yesterday St. Joseph lost to them aftef "Winnebago" Johnson - had held the opponents to" four hits. ' But then Omaha cannot kick about St Jo seph losing. ; f, ': ,;, Hank Meyers, the left fielder for Sioux City, slipped one over on Tex Westerzll In Sunday's game which the latter won't forget' for some time. The Josles had the bases full and Tex . had taken a healthy lead off the- keystone stack . to wards "third. Hank crawled in from center-field and received the pitcher's throw, getting; Tex some few. feet, off second. 1 - . , y ' Hick Johnson was hitting the ball some thing terrltc hi the game opening game with Sioux City. ' The big Rourke Back stop, waa up to. bat our time and ham mered out three two-baggers,' vwhich la some hammering. Johnson has found his batting eye again and is making bp or lost time. . Del Alderman, who was a premier twirler on the Sioux City team in 1910 has quit organized league tape ball or at, least he has for this -year. ' He has been In Omaha for some time and is pitching for Independent teams out in the state. At that Alderman is pulling down some fat purses for a few hour work two or three time a week. Tommie Campbell, who used to romp around In k Sioux City uniform, la making Omaha his headquarters. Tommie says he is going back into base ball next sea son and be ia going to try his hand at twirling.. , ;: , t , , . s Big Bill McCormlck, the .Uncoln star outfielder,' will be out of the game tor a few days owing to a split digit, which he received in the Denver series. McCor mlck' absence from the Antelope line up will be felt by Hughle Jone's gang, as the big fellow has been hitting at an awful clip lately. In' the last 'thirteen games he was to bat an even fifty time and slammed out twenty-six hits, which would give him an average of .520. Now that Cliff Healy has been sold it is a good time to tell the fans what a wonderful swatter the Grizzly hurler is at the bat .He has been-to. bat sixty five times to date and in that number number of times he ha faced the op posing twier he has made not a single hit and only one run. He will . be a peer of strength for Hughle Jennlng's tribe. As baa been said before Denver will not find the pickings at Topeka quite so easy.
