hard on Hornby this afternoon and drove

won the second game of the series, by
it tot
Harry Hicks was on the firing line
Kvnd heaved great ball and chalked up his
ninth straight win. Hicks kept his nits
iwell scattered and at no time was he
in danger. Fine fielding, kept the Kaks
'from getting many runs.
Omaha went after the game from the
if Irst and displayed more ginger than dur
ing any other game on the present trip.
This was probably due to a meeting this
morning when Manager Arbogast gave
the boys a long lecture.
Eddie Justice pulled off a circus stunt
In the Inning which robbed the Kaws of
two runs. With a man on third and an
other on second, with town down Gear
hammered a liner past Hicks, Justice
made a lunge for the ball and pulled It
down and fell on second base.
Hit Coaslsteatly.'
In the next Inning Coyle made a hard
atch. Two were on bases and two out,
when Walsh sent one to deep right
Coyle started with the ball and Jumped
over a smal fence on the toul line, catch
ing the ball one handed. The Rourke's hit
the ball harder today and more con
sistently than they have since they left
home. Jimmy Kane beat out two bunts
and slammed out a double In four times
up. Schtpke beat out a bunt and made
'two bagger.
Omaha started In the second. Johnson
landed safe on Franti' error. Kane beat
out a bunt, Bchtpke did the same, filling
Ithe bases. Bills put a pretty hit to left,
.scoring Johnson and Kane.
In the third, Kane beat out a bunt
and scored on fichlpke's double. Hicks
singled in the fourth and scored on
Coyle's double. Johnson opened the fifth
with a triple and scored on Kane's
double. Kane scored on Niehoff s single.
Topeka scored In the fourth. Gardner
singled, stole second and scored on
Schmidt's hit to left field. Frants doubled
In the sixth and went home on Pattersons
