Kansas Estimates Raising' and Much.

CORN WEATHER IS .FAVOEABLE
With the Light Supplies of Corn 1b
the Country the Bis Decline In,
Prtres sens to Have Dis
counted Outlook.
OMAHA. Julv 13. 1912.
The weather Is generally favorable In
ail directions and the crop outlook is
unquestionably fine. Kansas estimates
ar being .raised and there Is consider
ate selling of new wheat It la doubted
it the crop movement to Chicago Is any
where near as large as last year, but It
must not be forgotten that soft wheat
tstates Instead of being shippers, will have
to Import large quantities this year. The
cables ar strong, 114c to 2Hc higher,
i'rices are so close to an export basis
that it is bellesed selling has been over
done and that wheat thuulu De sold only
on bulges. The foreign market took a
sudden Jump upward. Tills rise was not
due to any weather or crop conditions
but a bombardment of the Dardanelles
strait, which resulted In It dosing. This
mopped the satpmerrls of wheat from
Uussta and canned great commotion In
loreign markets. Cash wheat unchanged
to 1c higher.
The cables are strong to c higher.
The weather throughout the corn belt
is very favorable as a rule. Cash de
mand was much better on the crop yes
terday. With the light supplies of corn
in the country, the War decline In prices
appears to have discounted the promising
crop outlook, especially as new corn win
not be available for live months yet.
aw. Snow, the crop expert, sal's:
"Yesterday's rain did not reach south of
the Flatte and corn acreage west of wu
' cola is dry and the. crop Is suffering,
borne corn is beginning to tassel, not
' over four feet tall, .while other fields will
not average a font high. The color Is
generally good, but the plant nas stopped
growing and Is curling At present Ne
braska, south of the .Platte, does not
i promise a 70 per cent crop, and unless
there Is a good rain relief at once it win
, b much lesa" Cash corn was 2c
higher. " ..V
Chicago received 110 cans oats. The crop
outlook la favorable. The sales were very
i liberal yesterday and a little steadier
t tone prevails. Yesterday's market showed
, less weakness than the other grains,
i Short sellers are not as aggressive, yet
! there is a moderate pressure In the way
I of hedges against the new crop. Cash
l oats were zc lower.
Clearances were 8.000 bushels of corn.
121,000 bushels of oats and wheat and
' flour equal to 12 .000 bushels.
Liverpool closed ld higher on
I wheat and fed hliiher on corn. .'
' Primary wheat receipts were 1000
1 bushels and ; shipments were 6M,000
I bushels, against receipts last year of
1,599.000 bushels and shipments of 4Z6,w.
Corn receipts were 832.000 bushels and
shipments were 400.000 bushels, against re
, reipts last 'yean of 254,000 bushels and
shipments of 360,000 bushels.
Receipts of -.eats were 233,000 bushels

CATTiE Receipts of cattle were mod
erate this morning, but still there was a
fair run for a Friday. The quality of the
cattle on sale was pretty common, the
arrivals consisting - very largely of odds
and ends, with only a few strings of good
killers, - but nothing toppy. -
What few beef steers there were gen
erally commanded . steady prices, there
being little or no change in the market
There was nothing good, so that sales
did not show up very well on paper. A
string ot Nebraska grass cattle sold , at
16.50.
Cows and heifers were in light supply,
although there was a sprinkling of
butcher, stock of all kinds. The market
was slow, but generally steady with yes
terday. - ,
There were only a few scattering loads
of stock cattle and feeders on sale. The
demand was poor, but prices did not show
much if any change.

HOOS The market opened steady this
morning and quite a good many hogs,
even strictly good ones,- sold on that
basis. Packers seemed unwilling to raise
yesterday's - figures and - sellers were
forced to out loose at prices showing lit
tle or no Improvement A little later on
as the trade became mors active, the
market firmed up, becoming strong to 6c
higher on good hogs of all weights; that
is, both light and heavies.' During the
best time good to choice light hogs sold
largely at and . right around 27.35 and tn
up as high as 27.45 for the extreme top,
which - was 5c higher than - anything
brought yesterday. The less desirable
hogs sold at the bolt am or right at the
bottom of the market. At the same time
choice heavy hogs, weighing around 220
pounds, touched 27.20, which was 5c higher
than anything of that weight' brought
yesterday. The - rough heavy hogs and
even pretty good heavy hogs, if they ran
largely to sows, sold below 27.00.
A little later on the market eaded off,
closing slow and weak. Thus It will be
noted that the market as a whole was
very uneven, the same as it has been
very day this week, and prices ranged
anywhere from no better than steady to
as muoh as 6c higher. While the market
was at no time especially, active, there
was a fair movement and everything that
could be. regarded as at all desirable sold
In good season in the tnorning, only the
commoner . or rougher loads being left
at the close.

-SHEEP "AND LAMBfi Only' six cars
of Idaho lambs arrived on the market
this morning and in consequence only one
branch of the trade , was afforded any
test of values. ' One load of lambs sold
for 27.10 and about two-thirds of the re
maining five brought 26.90, the rest of
the string being sold as feeders. Prices
paid for lambs this morning were quot
ably steady with yesterday and Wednes
day. The small supply , was disposed of
fairly early in the morning. - -
Trade this week has been rather unsat
isfactory from, a seller's standpoint. - Al
though not many real good lambs showed
up in this week's supply they- may be
described as at least 10$415& tower than
last week's, close. - On the other band
all In between lambs have shown still
greater declines. Feeding - lambs have
been going to the country at fully steady
prices.
The bulk of the receipts has consisted
of fat sheep, mostly wethers and ewes.
Some pretty good sheep arrived here
during the week but like lambs have as
a rule been slow to sell and values to
ward the ' close of the ' week are fully
2540c lower than the close, of the. pre
vious week. Wethers have shown a little
more weight than for some time back
and on this account have sold at a alight
disadvantage. Trade in yearlings has
not Deen very large . but they showed
greater declines than anything . else on
the market being 50c lower than last
week. ......

DATE FOR THE MASS MEETING
Yeiser. Sends Out Call for His Bump
' Convention. J
MEETING AT WASHINGTON HAIL
Would Contest the Seats of tne
Delegates to Be Named ny tke
Republicans of Douglas
County. .
On thousand copies of John O. Teiser's
call for a mass meeting of Douglas county
republicans to select delegates to the
republican state " convention to contest
seats of delegates sent by the regular re
publican county convention were sent out
frnm Mr. Yetaor's office to Douglas
county republicans Friday. The meeting
will be held in Washington hall at 8
o'clock In the evening of July 23.
The call sent out is signed by the toUK
lowing .men: Dr. W. O. Henry, H. ' D.
Neely, W. T. Graham. Dr. J. M. Keyes,
E. H. Westerfield, C. D. Hutchinson, Dr.
W. H. Mick, E. E. Klmberly, Dr. J. H.
Wallace, W.. J. Broatch, John a Yeiser.
It is as follows:
We, the undersigned republicans of
Douglas county, do hereby protest against
bosslsm in the republican party and re
fuse to be bound by the action of the
Douglas county central committee in al- .
lowing one man, its chairman, to appoint
ftve men to select delegates to the county
convention, which will select delegates to
the tstate convention This was a trick
and a scheme to pack the convention in
stead of calling a primary to select said
delegates and giving the rank and llle
of the party a vote or voice in the pro
ceedings. We recognise thatTgreat skill and diplo
macy will be necessary to hold the party
together; that all factions should be ad
mitted, and that, any suspicion of dishon
esty pr bosslsm will do tha party in this
state incalculable Injury.
Therefore, we, the undersigned repub
licans of Douglas county, from necessity
and because of the said failure and neg
lect of the Douglas county republican
committee to do its duty and by request
of many loyal republicans, we nereby call
a mass meeting of the republicans of
Douglas county at Washington hall on
July 23, 1913, at 8 p. m. to select dele
gates and alternates to the republican
state ' convention, to be held in Lincoln
July 30. 1912, and such other business as
may come before the meeting.
