MINNEAPOLIS, July 17. With the ab
sorption by the Emertoh-Brantlngham
Interests of Rockford, HI., of .the Gas
Traction company of Minneapolis the lat
ter has been made an .adjunct to a syn
dicate capitalised at 860,000,000. The an
nouncement of the sale was made today
by ;Fred Glover, manager ;of the . Gas
Traction company, who goes to Rock
ford as vice president and general man
ager of the larger corporation.
According to Mr. Glover the Rockford
concern is negotiating for the taking over
of several independent plants throughout
the United States. The company, he de
clared, will manufacture all sorts of farm
machinery.' :. v.

The body of a man from whose clothing
all marks of identification had been re
moved, was found in the Ohio river here
today. A paving block had been. fast
ened around his neck with a piece of
wire and his skull had been fractured.
Other marks on the body showed the
victim had been beaten.

them to close up shop Friday afternoon
and attend the Denver-Omaha ball game

After the executive committee of the
club found out it could not plajr golf
resolutions were adopted to boost the
national game. Friday will be made a
gala day. All . buslnesa '. men will be
asked to close their stores and Offices
and allow their clerks to go to the game
and boost Omaha. ' ' j
The game will be postponed to 4. o'clock
to allow the boosters to get to the park.

making a success of Boosters' day for
our ball team, I respectfully ask' the
citizens to dose their places of business

deserves the support of all of its citisens
in Its efforts to give Omaha a winning
team the present season. Base ball haa
