The difficulty smi to b that the spectators at the clubt, who seem to enjoy dance nights espe cially, are not quite certain when the yeunf people are dancing the Boston or the Bear Cat. As a matter of Tact, the Boston, when danced correctly, la just us proper as the old dances of our grand mothers'' time, but to be aura some of the young people have ; put. in a few extra flourishes. At the national conven tion of dancing masters,' which was, held last month in the east, the Boston was one of the few new dances to be recom mended, and sine then, in spit of the warm weather, society" maids and men have been taking private lessons. The. convention scorned the Bear Cat. the Bunny Hug and the Texas Tommy. Happy Hollow and the Bod and Oun club are the only clubs to forbid the Boston. Since ( the two national conventions closed up and went home, every official meeting and informal - 'gathering in Omaha has been a scene of violent die- cussion mixed up with oratorical pyro technics and slelght-of-hand parliamen tary trtcka. The most recent demonstration of. this tact came at the weekly meeting ot the Real Estate exchange. The exchange bas had in ita collective head for some time, plans for the 1811 annual frolic. Differences of opinion forced the naming of a committee to decide the time and the place. The Committee advocated Happy Hollow C'ub, a go'.f match, a dinner Knd a stag affair, but before the feeding could be finished members were clamoring tor recognition on points of order, for amend ments, resolutions and every other thing ftiat Mr. Roberta felt necessary, to fill his book on rules pf order. . . . . . When pandemonium subsided, W. T. Graham proceeded to object that the Happy Hollow elub was an "unfit hole," and that golf was "a nonsensical game which' nobody could play." Those who favored Happy Hollow club began to tcel downhearted, because Mr. Graham greatly resembles the first- elttsen ot Oyster Bay and they feared he would start a new party. Graham wanted the plcnlo held at Miller park. He is agent for some property near there; nut said. When this tact dawned somebody ruled Graham Out of order, whereupon George G. , Wallace moved to hold the test at Bellevue. Wallace has aome lots tor sale down there and Bellevue Is crasy tor publicity. When the queetlon was put, Wallace shouted "aye" almost loud enough to drown out the "noes" from all the other members, but he could not foot the chair. Then Harry Tukey ej to suggest the backyard of the C"dah7 home. Tukey has bought and sold 'hat place so many times he thinks he owns it. President Morton rang loudly for order with . his fork. The exchange never has supplied Ita president with a gavel. At last quiet reigned long enough to, eteam " roller Tukey and the Cudahy backyard-' J The convention returned to an up-roar-er. as Mr. Slater of the Payne Slater company approached the platform. The Flatlron building which his com pany rents seemed to him more Suitable than any named;, in Xact, It had been built for picnics. "When he had concluded the steam roller began to toot and he flattened. Council Bluffs, Benson, South Omaha, Plattsmouth, Oshkosh, Seattle, Halifax and a few -other rearby places were nominated without enlisting a following. As a last resort the exchange voted to sustain its committee and made next W ednesday the time and the Happy Hol low club the place.
