Sam Reynolds, the young Field club golf shark, turned In low score for the qualifying round of the state golf tourn ament at the Country club yesterday with a. card of 1S1 for the thlrtyrla holes medal play. Despite some exceed ingly hard luck, -chiefly a 13 for the sixth hole In "hell's pasture" during the morning round, John W, Redick of the Country club finished second with 1G2. With a four-man team score of 67 the Country club woo the team championship of Nebraska by one stroke over the Field club four wbo turned In a tab of 77. The mombers of the Country club team Include E. H Sprague, J. B. Rahm, Blaine toting and John 'A', Redlck. In deciding the result, of the team champion ship the scores of the qualifying round were used, and no limit was placed on ths number ot team entries from each club. A striking feature of the tourney was the play of Wtllie Folsom. a Lincoln High school lad, who turned in a score of 168 for the day. This was Folsom' first tlmo on the Country club course and his Initial efforts are considered ex cellent. .Young Folsom far outdistanced all the local unj out-of-town adepts in driving, some of bis swipes going tor better than J00 yards. ' Card la Rearrested. On account of ths small entry list, several rearrangements in today's pro gram had to be made. Only one jname wis drawn for the secretary's flight, that being C. L. Clough of Miller Park who will meet the loser of the T. A. Frye-S. ' IL Chambers match. 'Pairings for the amateur champion, and director's flights were also made and play will start promptly at eight o'clock this morn ing. . . ' The Lincoln Country club with five entrants and the Hastings Country club with three participants are the only out-of-town organizations, represented. It is thought by many local men . that . ths earllness of the season has kept many players from entering' the affair. Low Qualifying Scores.'-'.
