BILL SCHIPKE WILL AGAIN
WEAR ROURKE UNIFORM
"Skipper" BUI Schlpk. former manager
of the Omaha base ball team, who vas
su8pended last year on account of in
different playing, brought on by a bad
knee, has rejoined the Rourkes again.
He reported to Manager Charlie Arbogst
at Lincoln.
It is not known at present whether
Schlpke wilt play regularly. He saa he
Is in perfect condition, and for the pres
ent will probably be used as a utility
player. Schlpke can play the l.ifield,
especially third base, aa good as any
man In the game today when in condi
tion, and also is able to hold down aa
outfield position. .
MADISON OPENS SEASON
WITH A SHUTOUT GAME
MADISON. Neb., June ll.-(8peclaO-The
base ball season formally opened
at the Madison ball park this afternoon
with a whirlwind game between Hum
phrey's fast team and the Madison Giants,
resulting in a score of 4 to 0 In favor of
the Giants. AH places of business wer
closed from 2:30 until S o'clock and the
game was watched with Intense interest
by a large crowd.
Battle Creek and Madison will play
here Thursday.
Catcher Frnmbes Released.
Catcher Walter Ftambes of the Denver
base ball team was given his uncondi
tional release by Manager Jack Hend
ricks. His release, will make room for
Catcher Block, who has been purchased
from the St. Paul team of the American
association. Block will report to Denver
this week. Frambes was secured by
Denver from the Topeka club last season
after the release of Hughie McMurray.
He has received several minor injuries
this season and. according to Hendricks.

The Senior class team gained a firmer )

ernoon. The Seniors pounded Jaspers to
all corners of the lot, while Riley was
a puzzle. Riley also led the hitting, get
