We boys hiked off the train aad ran

at mattresses and bed clothes. This to
what we used for our beds.

snesls at the restaurant at th Junction,
but we took most of them la the woods.
Of course, we boys did everything a

Whenever we would go fishing we could
gat the fish to hit easily, thus making

Jennie's Birthday Present

On bright summer day aa Jennie sat
os the porch, thinking of her coming birth
day, her mother asked with s smile what
made her eo happy.
"Oh, manual ' sh replied, "Sunday Is
my birthday and I would be so pleased
to have Ruth to dinner."
As sh paused with smll. her mother
smiled back again and said. "If It's a
bright day my dear you shall. to th
country with grandpa.' '
Nest morning as she klseed her mother
goodbr, she smiled sad said, "Good by
mamma. I'm year old."
Inside of a hour sh wss st the farm
gate with grandpa. As sh took off her
wraps shs said, "Grandpa let's rids to
Sunday school."

was baptised and why. As th rode horn

face. While Jennie was eating her dinner
grandpa asked her what sh would lis

Trip to Helens.

where I visited two weeks with my auntie

We left Omaha at t o'clock Monday even-

and drove two miles to the convent.
