All Omaha Anxious for Emil

anxiety during the day for word from
Hie rescuing steamers that might bring
news of the safety of Emil Brandeis,
who sailed from Southampton on the
Titanic. The thought that one of the
city's loading men had gone down with
the great steamer came home to all,
and thousands eagerly scanned the
papersfand stormed the newspaper

that might be had. To all but one an
swer could be returned, that nothing
had been heard from him. That the
list of names of those rescued is in
complete, not more than half having, -been
given yet for publication feeds v "
the hope' that Emil Brandeis may yet be reported as among
those who escaped death in the icy waters off Cape Kace, the
terrible "graveyard" of the North Atlantic.
Mr. Brandeis' brothers have not given up hope, but are
waiting for the word they expect to come of his safety.
Strained by the terrible nnxiety.-and surrounded by friends
whose interest is unfeigned, "Afrhur and Hugo Brandeis have
taken up. quarters for the time in an office adjoining the
