The day after the Vanderbllt cup race
of 1911 a rumor was circulated through
out the east to the effect that the Loiter
Motor company, winner of the cup. had
withdrawn from racing. This rumor be
came so persistent that the officers of
the company Issued a statement to the
effect that the report waa not correct
because no decision had been reached.
The tacts are said te be that the Loner
company has had this question up for
discussion a number of times during the
last two year, but a definite decision
waa not reached until now, when It la an
nounced upon authority of H. A. Loxler.

inent In all of the great road and track
races of the last five years, doing much
to make racing history In this country.
While a withdrawal of this company from
active participation In contests wss not
expected. It Is said to be a fact that

the place of some of the builders who
have recently announced their withdrawal
from long-distance speed contests.
