-One hundred aad eighty former mem
bers of the Nebraska legislature met In the
house chamber ) ester dsy te perfect the
organisation of the Nebiaska Legislative
league, to renew old acquaintance and
talk ever old times. The dean of the
body In point of early service was Wil
liam Deck of Saunders county, who was
a member of the 143 asasioea. He demon
strated during the proceedings, however,
that a hen It come to dehate he still hat
the fire of youth.
Some of the other veterans were Matt
Miller of Butler rountv, Thomas Msjors
of Nemaha and S. C. Hassetl of Buffalo.
Former Speakers Mockett snd Paul Clark
of 1-ancaster were also In evidence.
The feature of the meeting was a lively
dehate over the question of endorsing ths
five amendments submitted to the voters
by the last legislature.
The affair was nieclpltated by a motion
by Paul Clark to endorse the Initiative
and referendum. 8. C. Haesett moved to
Inettide the other amendments. The de
bain was not over the question whether
those present endorsed the amendments,
but whether It was the correct thing for
the league to go Into the endorsing busi
ness. The fight against II was taksn by
Mstt Miller, D. M. Cronla ef Holt, Wil
liam Dei'h and Orlando Tefft of Otoe.
All of these asserted they favored the
Initiative and referendum, but opposed
the Idea of the league going Into the
endorsing business. Paul Clark led the
friends of the motion and carried hat
point by a large majority.
The success of Clark Inspired W F.
Btoecksr of Douglaa to try hi hand at
the endorsement bus In ess and be Intro
duced a resolution praising Senator
Hitchcock for hi stand agalast the ai-bt-tratlon
treaties. II started to talk en
his motion when the presiding officer,
John Kuril. Informed him that his motion
had nnt been seconded. Bloecker skir
mished around and finally announced a
member silling near him Would second

ready to adjourn and go outside and have
a picture taken, leaving hi resolution
hanging up In the air. Tn meeting was
called to order by John KuhL speaker of
the last session, and J. H. rresaoa. chap
lain of the 1901 session, made a prayer.
J. H. Morkett of Lincoln, speaker of
the 1M session, welcomed the members
t Lincoln. Th presiding officer mads
a short address reviewing th formative
period of th ergsntiattoa. started last
fall at th state fair, after which W. P.

RIDSTHESYSTEII
OF CATARRH
Ml
.. ; iu..
Catarrh is a blood disease which causes a reneral Inflammation of the
inner linings or tnucoua membranes of the body. The diseasing of these,
delicate surfaces and tissues produces all the well known symptom of the
trouble, such as ringing noise in the head and ears, tight, stuffy feeling in
the nose, pains above the eye, irritation of the throat, sometimes slight
fever, and a general feeling of weakness and ill health. Even the lungs
become affected by the continual passage of impure blood through them, and
there is danger of consumption if the disease is allowed to remain in the

e circulation and removes every particle of the catarrhal matter, making
this vital fluid pure, rich and healthy. Then the iaQamed membranes begin
to heal, every aymptom disappears, the constitution is built tip and health
restored. S. S. S. rids the system of catarrh by attacking the trouble at its
