Some principals bold that tha custom of sending love-lit message among small children la exceedingly foolish, and these refused to allow any time for a "Valentine box" or tha reading ot St. Valentine day stor ies to the children by the teachers. In other schools, however, aa hour during the afternoon waa given over to dis tributing and reading valentine and stories. A large box waa placed la each primary grade room In these schools, where tha pupils dropped valentines addressed to their schoolmate. Norman, president of the Central Labor Untoa, has beea acquitted of tha charge ot assault and battery oa Lambert Barr, a machinist employed at tha Union Pacific abopa.
