Instead of vaulting over the rickshaw
Desmond has to alt appearancea made a
fatal mistake, for tie ha flopped bark
and Is now on the ground, with his mad
dened pursuers close on top of him. evi

scoundrel at last, although he la wildly
endeavoring to attiact the attention of
tome highbinder Chinese pals. The rick
shaw has turned over under Desmond's

gentleman walks. He carries a tiny slipper

ball, and he has made up bis mind to
find the oriental Clndd.-!lla at all costs.
Now lie hears Kosainond's voice, and
traces It to the compound. Tomorrow we
shall see what results.
