leading reports as to a break in prlcea
at Uurnos Ayres had much to do with
the setback. Latest trading here varied
from o higher to V4'So down, as com
pared with twenty-four hours before.

ance was offered in the stock market to
day o the renewal of the attack which
depressed prices yesterday. Tha bears

after the opening, but declines among the

street was too well acquainted with the
road's financial condition to be taken
off its guard. The declines of the com
mon and preferred stock and the 4 per
cent bonds ranged between 1 nnd 2 points.
The common stock touched 64, the lowest
price since 1907. and the preferred 14U.
