day afternoon at the Methodist hospital
from burns received early yesterday
morning when a can of kerosene win-
which she was building a fir In th coot,
stove exploded In her hands, .
The body was removed to the Bralley &
Dorranc undertaking parlors. 1
Robert Melvln, the husband, and Kath '
erine, 14-year-old daughter, sustalneg -
burns about ths hands in attempting to
save Mrs. Melvln. Neither wag badly
Injured.
Mrs. Melvln was 33 years old. Bh Is
survived by her husband, who la a ma
chinist, and four children: Roy, Katb
erlne, Caroline and Robert, aged 16, 14,
12 and 10 years, respectively.

straps and with a mighty lift came almost
within reach of the door, only to fall
back upon his head. Police surgeons pre
pared him for a night in jail.
