Wisconsin played"Mlnnesota a week ugo

Minnesota's triumph ever Illinois was
the result of the bulldog spirit of Rosen

succeesful gains, Minnesota resorted to
the famous shift In the third period.
Hosenwald waa usext as a battering ram.
For nine consecutive plays he plunged
through Illinois' line, ga.nlng from eight
to ton yards on every attack. When
within two yards of Illinois goal he tore
through for Minnesota's first touchdown.
Morrell failed to kick goal. In the final
period Stevens shot a perfect forward
pasa of eighteen yards to Smith, who
carried ths ball five yards before being
dawned. Rosenwald dove through tackle
for a yard gain, and then Btevena was
shoved over the goal for Minnesota's sec
ond touchdown. Morrell booted the ball
squgrely between th posts.
Punting characterised the game
throughout, 1 although both teams fre
quently used forward passe for effective
gain. Minnesota played th better open
game, while Hall got the better of Capron
