H. Pockery of Mis souri, which reported In favor of giving the grand sir the appointment of the head of the Patriarch Militant branch of the order, which was adopted by the sov ereign grand lodge. General A. R. Stocker, mayor of Mtamlsburg, O., was appointed to be commander of the Patriarchs Militant for the ensuing year. The grand sire an nounced that General Stocker would suc ceed General Raney within ten days. The term for wbloh General Raney was elected does not expire until January L IW. . He also reported that there was nothing In the Imperial Order of Muscovites, which Is largetjy composed of Odd Fellows, which should meet the dis approval of the sovereign grand loge. Hopes of the women belonging to the Rebekah of obtaining the consent of the sovereign grand lodge at thla se anion for the creation of a Rebekah national as sembly, were disappointed when the grand lodge declared against the propo sition by a vol of 138 to 69. The com mittee appointed at the Atlanta session of the sovereign grand lodge last year to In vestigate and report on the proposal to establish a Rebekah national assembly Is understood to have been favorable to the proposition. This was the decision of the sovereign grand lodge of Odd Fellow, which adopted an amend ment to the constitution to thla effect by a vote of 18s to 11. After hearing the report of the special committee on the establishment of a tuberculosis sanitarium, the sovereign grand lodge decided to allow the grand Jurisdictions to build and equip such In stitutions. Two or more grand lodge may elect to combine to build sanitarium. A law waa adopted prohibiting smok ing In all lodge during degree work.
