Breckenridge has been honored nfain this year in being re-elected for the sixth time a member of the executive board of five of the American Bar association, at the national meeting in' Boston Thurs day. "I am pleased the members of the asso ciation so honored me in my absence," said Mr. Breckenridge, "although I was unable to attend the meetings this year. And I can not say anything too praiseworthy for our new president, Stephen P. Gregory of Chi cago." Capt. Hornbrook to Relieve Maj. Wilder Major is Under Orders to Report to ' Commanding General of Cen tral Division. Major, William Ti Wilder, .who. has een for more than two , years; paymaster of the' Department 'of the .Missouri, Is 'to be re lieved by Captain James J. Hornbrook as soon as that officer returns from the Philippine Islands. . When relieved Major Wilder la under orders to report to the commanding general of the Central divi sion at St. Paul, Mtnn., for duty there. Major Wilder, who was paymaster gen eral here under the old departmental or ganization, was, when that office waa dis continued a year or more ago, detailed here for duty' as paymaster. For almost' three months he has been on a leave of absence and his place has been temporarily taken by Major W. G. Gambrlll, who was on leave .pf absence from the Philippine Islands. . . Maun returned Wednesday from a two weeks' sightseeing trip among the mountains of Colorado. v The democratic candidate on the Judicial ticket made Tekamah headquartera yester day, the occasion being the '"Old Settlers' " W. L. Ireland arrived in Burt county the first of the week from the Pacific coast country for a visit with his sons here. E. W. Bryant and K. D. Pratt returned Tuesday evening from a three weeks' trip to Canada, where Mr. Bryant purchased six ijaurters of land. The teachers of Burt county to the num ber of a hundred have been rendezvousing at Tekamah the last week. Ninety per cent of the enrollment has been among the lad y teachers. Mr. and Mrs. G. P. Brookings arrived home the last week from central Oregon. They were accompanied by Miss Barbara Brickey, who la a guest at the home of her aunt, Mrs. Frank Ward. Mr. Otto Palmer and Miss Ethel Choate were united in marriage by the Methodist parson at Arizona Center on Wednesday evening at 7 o'clock. The young peoplo are the children' of promnent farmers northeast of Tekamah. J. S. Crue and wife and son Johnny ar rived home Saturday afternoon from their summer's outing In northern Illinois. Mr. Crue Juat previous to his arrival at Omsr.ia enroute home suffered a slight paralytic strike, which has confined him to his bed moat of the week. Elkhorn. Pr. C W. Final details fur the manufacturers' parade which Is to be given on October 3. during Ak-Sar-Ben week, were completed Friday afternoon at the Commercial club, when the manufacturers' committee held its regular meeting. Prizes for the most artistic and best floats were fixed, and next Friday was set as the last day for entering floats In the parade. Six prizes will be given by the Manufacturers associa tion, three of which will be cash. Thirty dollars will be given the best all around float, $20 to the next best and $10 to the third. For the float decorated best a gold medal will be given, and to the second and third a silver and bronze medal will be awarded, respectively.
