In tricky weather for airmen, the start waa made yesterday for the 850,000 prise offered by the Dully Mall for the 1,010 miles' flight around England. Nineteen aviators, out of thirty entered, essayed the first section of twenty miles to Hendon. Three, however, failed to get outside of the aerodrome. Lieutenant John C. Porta of the British navy fell from a height of sixty feet, wrecking his machine, but sustaining only a few scratches. Another Englishman, F. C. Jenkins, had a similar fall, but escaped uninjured, while a third Englishman, E. C. Gordon, was unable to get his machine to rise. The others got away well, A Beau mont (Lieutenant de Conneau) and the other Frenchmen making brilliant starts. C. T, Weymann, (he American representa tive, In a Nleuport monoplane, had bad luck. Touchard of New York and B. C. Wright and N. W. Nlles of Boston, won their matches and will meet In the finals Tuesday. Little s.nd Touchard disposed of W. J; Clothier of Philadelphia and W. A. Aranti or Sheffey has worked In Omaha as a porter and a waiter. Miss Warren became Infatuated with him and eloped with him to Chicago. The mar riage was performed by a justice of tho peace. Mr. Warren declared last night that he will place a charge of abduction against the negro and prosecute him to the limit.
