Pa Rourke writes to Dick Grotte a most
glowing description of his Dear third base
man, Pick. Pick Is a big. strapping fel
low, 21 yesrs of age, fast and furious He
Is a graduate of the University of Vir
ginia, and Rourks got him through Cleve
land, where he had been nabbed.
"He must be mighty good," says Grotte,
"or Bill would never keep him on third
and send Nlehoff to second, for, believe
me, Nlehoff is some third baseman him
self. Bill Is greatly encouraged over the
outlook."
Nothing definite is known here as yet
as to the deal for Cheney, the Indianapolis
pitcher, but It seems as if hs were lost
to Omaha, for Louisville thus lar refuses
to waive on him.
No disposing of players has yet been done
or. will be until the return of Pa Rourke
and his club Mondsy morning. Graham,
Pickering, Anderson and PaUon are In
