Grand Island used two batteries against
the bunch from Hastings Sunday, but lost
tha game anyhow.
Speelman, formerly with the Diets team
of Omaha, now with the Superior team,
was the big noise In the game against
Kearney Sunday. In four times at bat he
got away with three hits and handled six
chances without an error.
Pa Rourke's kid shortstop, Ward, who
was farmed out to Fremont, played a
pretty game against the Seward team. He
was not right at the bat. but his work in

Both Rouse and Thlnson nearly gave the
fans nervous prostration at Fremont on
the opening day by presenting free passes.
Five of York's scorer were the result of
walks enough to have won the game.
Three brothers are plavlng In the State
league. Henry and Herman Thompson
are with the York team, and are a strong
battery, while "Tommy'' Thompson plays
on the Fremont team.
That Hastings bunch has a first base
man who will bear watching. In the
game Sunday he handled sixteen chances
without a boot, and In tha games prior to
that he had no errors.
Evidently Superior has a bunch of hitters
and sluggers on the team. The youagsters
managed to get away with twenty-one

The fans at Fremont went crasy with
