gram.) A fire at the town of Arthur, seven
mliee east of here, at 8 o'clock thi morning
threatened to destroy the town. It tartd
from a gasoline stove explosion In the
Frank Curran restaurant, completely de
etroying three buildings and burned 'the
roof off the fire station. The lodge build
ing and opera house, a two story concrete
block structure, only completed laat year,
was completely destroyed.
Th Curran restaurant and the Jess
Hendrlckson drug store are also g total
los. The city well gave out and a rittien'
bucket brlgsde was all that saved the
town. Word for help went out by 'phone
end within thirty minutes surrounding
town had sent fifty automobile loads of
citizens to help fight the flames.
There was 81.600 insurance on the lodge
building and fr, XI on the drug stock, but
none on the other buildings,
