If not before the nd of th next scholastic year, resign from th faculty. Dr. Lamp. It Is under stood, will be succeeded In his ohatr of Hebrew and Old Testament history by hit son, Rer. Wit lard Lamp. rrduat of th Omaha seminary and now pursuing post itraduat work in the east. Both Drs. Lowrl and Lamp are advanced In years. Jenkins Dean f Faculty. Dr. Daniel E. Jenkins, head of th chair of theology and one of the church's lead ing theologians in the Cnlted States, was elected dean of the faculty by th bosrd of trustees, thus committing to him chief su pervision of th school work, leaving Pres ident. Marshall mor free to administer th financial and other executive affairs. Dr. Jenkins was not present at the board meet ing and has not yet decided as to his ac ceptance of the office. For more than ten years he has held the chair of theology and" because of the distinguished character of his work and his position abroad as a theologian, his friends will urge hint to aocept Rer. E. H. Jnks. pastor of the First Presbyterian church of Omaha, resigned as chairman of the executive committee of the board of trustees aa well as from th board Itself, but he was continued on the board, though his resignstion of th chairmanship of th committee was ac cepted and Rev. M. P. McClure, D. D., of the First church of Council Bluffs, was made chairman both of th board and executive committee. Dr. W. F. Mllroy also resigned from the board and was suc ceeded by Rev. Jsmes W. Bean of Chero kee, la., an alumnus of tho seminary. Mr. Manley of Bloux City succeeded James Mo Alllster of Missouri Valley on th board. McConnell Displaces Adams. Th terms of James H. Adams and John C. Wharton as trustees and executive committeemen expired and both were re elected. Mr. Wharton being made vie president . of the board. Mr. Adams has been secretary of the board and executive committee, but was not. re-elected - to either position. Both places were given to Rev. Thomas H. McConnell, D. D., pastor of Westminster church, Omaha. The executive committee Is now com posed of these: Robert Dempster, James H. Adams, John C - Wharton, A. A-. Laraor eaux, Rev. Thomas H. McConnell, D. D., Rev. M. P.' McClure, D. D., and Dr. 'A B. Marshall,' president of the seminary! "Th opportunity," h continued, "Is (or real seekers of servloa, not for ecclesi astical time-servers and piaoa-seckers; for men of consecration, not of compromise." Two Speakers front Class. Two speakers from the class were Roland J. Blue and William Amos. Both speeches were short, but to the point and eloquent, Mr. Amos spoke on the ministry from a sociological standpoint, holding up ths many problems that th minister has to solve In dealing with a society growing more and more complex. Mr. Blue referred to the weakness of th masculine element In the church, and asked as a remedy thst the too common concep tion of Christ aa weak and Indecisive be msde no longer. A large audience attended and approved each ef fort generously. Two medals were the prizes of the eveilng, one for the classes comprising second and third academic and another for first academic. In th first division John J. Hanlghsn merited first prise, James Halplne second and Daniel H. McCarthy third. Mr. Hanighen rendered "The Battle of Fontenoy." Hla victory was well merited and there was not a dissenting voice from the opinion of the Judges. James Alpine was the youngest of the contestants, giving "That Boy, John." Daniel H. McCarthy's number was "The Dandy Fifth." In the higher division the Judges gave the popular decision in favor of J. Francis Roberts. . My.
