Ivotrrh, a farmer living three miles south

The Manohtlrl railed from Newport
News March i. bpnnd to Tamplco, Mexico,
with a cargo of coal. The fallowing day
It stranded during thick weather. After
a terrible night, during whteh a severe
storm threatened to dash tlte vessel to
pieces, eight of Its crew wfre rescued.
The weather moderated and the wreckers
went-to work to save the steamer. The
eargo was being lightered and the wreckers
had succeeded in moving the vessel 100 feet
seaward.
In addition ta the crew of thirty-five,
there are twenty-five men from the wreck
