of America and lately chairman of ths

tional Civic federation, today made public
Ms resignation of tlie office and member
ship In the latter. It also was nnnounoed
that Pres'dent Setb Low of the Civic feder
ation had accepted the (emigration, to lake
effect at the close of the present month.
Mr. Mitchells seversnce of connection
with the Civic federation follows the stand '
recently taken by the United Xtlum Workers
of America In declaring that any member
of their organisation aoccptlrg a position
with the National Civic federation would
thereby forfeit membership In the cnlon.
With this choice placed before Mr Mitchell
he decided to resign from the Civic federa

way to settls In the west. It ts said their
coming marks the beginning of an exodus
of about 8.O00 farmers from Holland, w ho
have been practically forced to leave their
native land because of the extortion of
landholders.
